Randy Gravon,
Superintendent, Central Point School District 6
I was born in Portland, grew up in Bend, and have spent the past 38 years in Southern Oregon. I graduated from Southern Oregon State College in 1975 and began my teaching career at Central Point Elementary. I worked in various capacities in District 6 until 1983 when I moved to Medford School District to become an elementary principal. I was principal at Jefferson, Griffin Creek and Jackson Elementary Schools over a 13 year period before returning to Central Point in 1996 as Director of Personnel. In 2005 I became Superintendent of Central Point School District 6. I purchased my first home in 1978 on Fourth Street and have always enjoyed the small town feel of Central Point. The friendliness, pride and the feeling of community is a common trait of our residents. It has been a Southern Oregon secret for many years, although more recently, weve been discovered. This of course will have a huge impact on the future development of our community. I have lived on Pioneer Road, south of Medford, for the past 18 years but still consider Central Point my home town.
My wife Cherie and I have three daughters and seven grandchildren. Cherie is administrative assistant to the Superintendent and Board of Medford School District 549C. Since we work in similar worlds during the day, we try to avoid talk of work in the evenings. We enjoy large family gatherings, especially on holidays, when our house becomes the family gathering spot. We enjoy our daughters and grandkids, which occupies most of our time when we are not working.

I am Catherine Boyd, the Museum Administrator for the Crater Rock Museum, the newest member to the Chamber Board.
I attended my first board meeting with everyone at Mateos in March. I am very excited to get the museum more involved with the City and the Chamber.
I feel Crater Rock Museum is one of Central Points best kept secrets. I say that because it is amazing to me how many local people have never been to the museum or even heard of it. My first trip to the Museum was in 2002 when I was taking a geology class at RCC with Charles Rogers, who is the currently our senior Director at the museum. It was after that experience that I decide to pursue a degree in Geology. I went on to SOU and my involvement with the geology club at the university led me back to my involvement with the museum in 2004. When I completed my degree, I heard the museum was hiring an Administrator, so I went for the job and lucky me here I am.
I love working at the museum and its a great time to be here with the museums building expansion. I really think the Museum has a great future and is one of Central Points Gems.
